We all know that elder abuse remains under-reported and hidden. Stigma, shame and fear often silence those affected.
But personal stories have the power to break this invisibility, inspire change and offer hope.
EAAA is excited to be launching a new podcast pilot series to amplify lived and living experiences and raise awareness of elder abuse. The ‘Breaking the Silence’ podcast will give a voice to those whose stories are so often hidden from view.
We're inviting individuals to share their stories to help reduce stigma and advocate for real change.
While we would prefer to hear from the older person involved, we would also be interested in hearing from others who have witnessed stories unfold.
How to take part
If you or someone you know has a story to share, please email info@eaaa.org.au with these details:
We will only be able to feature a limited number of stories in this podcast pilot program. Submissions will close at the beginning of March.
This will be an audio-only podcast. Participants may remain anonymous and trauma-informed support will be available.
We also encourage you to share this opportunity with your networks.
Help us to break the silence one story at a time.
