Join the EAAA Board – A national voice to end elder abuse

EAAA believes in the rights of older Australians, our actions seek to eliminate elder abuse.  Our campaigns, advocacy and policy development positively impacts the lives of older Australians and their families, communities and broader society.

Elder Abuse Action Australia (EAAA) is a new peak organisation established as a national voice for action that eliminates elder abuse. We are committed to: 

  • Social justice and the rights of older people; 
  • Respect for difference and inclusion; 
  • Community collaboration to eliminate elder abuse; 
  • Accountability and integrity; 
  • Evidence based practice and research; and 
  • Innovation and forward-thinking. 

EAAA was incorporated in May 2018 and commenced operations on 1 July last year. The organisation has been focused on establishing all aspects of the organisation including branding, administrative processes and internal policies.

EAAA was established with five foundation members who provide legal services, advocacy, helplines and other services to support older Australians. Our foundation members represent five different states, have extensive experience in this sector and contribute to policy development with Federal and State governments.

EAAA is seeking expressions of interest from prospective professionals interested in joining the EAAA Board to fill two vacancies and complement the balance of skills and experience of existing Directors. You will offer, on a voluntary basis, a variety of leadership skills, experience and personal/cultural characteristics that will support EAAA to continue to best serve this important organisation and outcomes for older Australians. 

Applicants will be able to demonstrate the ability to contribute to sound governance expertise and have a desire and commitment to improving outcomes and strategic business practices as the organisation develops. The Board is seeking applications with skills and experience in business, financial management, fundraising, marketing and communications.
